If you are in a drafting class you probably have acces to measuring tools. If not I would suggest getting yourself a caliper or micrometer. You can take dimensions straight from the objects and draw them in full scale. At least this is how I do it in AutoCAD. I also draw and save my on track templates, buildings, and other objects and save them together. This would be a good project for you. It also will save you some $$$ which i use to buy equipment
