I have spent most of my working life as a currency trader in the City of London and developing currency trading room software. Since being made redundant in 2001 I have been an independent software consultant, had my own furniture making business and for 8 years ran SBX Model Shop in Ipswich, UK. My current modelling takes in both Scale Modelling and Model Railways. With Scale Modelling, I switch easily between aircraft, armour and figure painting. I try not to get too deep into the topic and look to produce a clean and tidy model straight from the box. See my Scale Model blog at http://www.gsmblog.co.uk for more. In Model Railways my long term interest has been in North American prototypes but occasionally attempt a UK based layout. I have taken down my OO9 4mm Narrow Gauge layout as I am back to US Outline and am building the Sunset & North Eastern RR - a NE USA short line in 1950s. See my Model Railway blog at http://www.gmrblog.co.uk - which needs updating!.
