Boston & Albany D-1a 4-6-6T by Custom Brass

Double ended steam is perfect for suburban service on a model railroad - no turntable needed. The Boston & Albany, a New York Central subsidiary, had 5 of this type built by Schenectady in 1928 and lasting until dieselization. They were as powerful as some B&A Pacifics and were styled much like the NYC Hudsons. B&A also had 18 2-6-6T of smaller size. All ran out of South Statioin in Boston. I (Edward J. Ozog) painted and lettered the old Custom Brass model for my own railroad name.
