San Jose Diridon Depot

I didn't see that there was a gallery on here for photos from San Jose until today. So, I'll upload some photos! This shot is of the San Jose Diridon depot. This was formerly known as the Southern Pacific's Cahill Street depot. Now it's named for Rod Diridon, our county's "Mr. Transit". Rod was also until recently the head of the Mineta Transportation Institute at San Jose State University. This shot is from the San Carlos Street overpass at the south end of the Depot. While formerly you could see the SP's Coast Daylight and commute trains from here, now the depot is used by CalTrain, Altamont Corridor Express, Amtrak Coast Starlight, Amtrak California Capitol, and VTA light rail trains. Today there are more trains calling at this depot then ever were in the SP days.
