KCS Bicentennial SD40 616

Posted by Flying Crow

The KCS bicentennial units 616 and 642 were designed by an elementary school girl who won a contest. The units were painted in the shop at Deramus yard in Shreveport, LA and was arguably the most unique bicentennial design.

To my knowledge this is the only HO scale example in existence currently although one was done in the 70's by a KCS employee from a modified Athearn SD45.

The model here is a Kato SD40 with a Tsunami2 sound decoder and dual mini cube speakers.
