X80 West - Lynn Valley, August 1953

Canadian National Railway 80 hauls a short extra freight west out of the Lynn Valley en route to Port Rowan, Ontario in August 1953. Trevor Marshall of Toronto captured this photo on his S scale layout. Trevor's friend Simon Parent built the 2-6-0 for him, while another friend - Andy Malette - created a resin kit for the CNR 8-hatch refrigerator car behind the Mogul. The caboose is a resin kit from Ridgehill Scale Models. The single-wire telegraph line runs between scratch-built poles and past scratch-built trees made from florist wire, flexible modeling paste and Selkirk Leaf Company leaves.
