Carlson Family HO Layout

Steam Railroading is a dirty job, and while the sights and sounds of a polished Pacific hauling the varnish out on the mainline is a beautiful sight, the daily grind at the shops is a different story. Few photographers took shots of the facilities where the Iron Horse spent most of its time. Here, the shiny Pennsy K4 is quite a contrast to the grungy I1 decapod and the cinder hoppers as they are loaded for use as sub-roadbed on the main, or ballast in the yards and sidings.
