The Jack Rabbit signs were a familiar site along the former Route 66 in NM and AZ luring tourists to visit the iconic store. The signs bore only the Jack Rabbit image until drivers got closer to the site and then the remaining distance appeared on the signs. The Santa Fe parallels Route 66 on the prototype and and a portion of Mike Johnston's HO layout.
