Coal Belt Country

This is Higgins Corner -- a dying coal mine town in the Alleghenies, just the other side of Crestwood.  An ex-SP SD40T-2 at the head of mu'd ex-D&RGW "Tunnel" motors blasts out of Higgins Tunnel east bound with a block of 100 ton 3-bay hoppers with export anthracite for Elizabeth Port, NJ.

This is for the MR staff and anyone who wants to take a good guess at how the roof of the abandoned station became so weathered.  I'll give you the real story later. # # #
