Posted by Rene Schweitzer on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 10:34 AM

What a crazy week! As promised, here are some photos of Vegas.

Several new products on display. I'll be writing a longer story on this later this week, so stay tuned for more. USA Trains had this boxcar:

MTH had their GG1 on display:

We visited a cactus garden and saw amazing cactus:

Working the booth with Pat Hayward, our horticultural editor:

Jack Verducci, Marc Horovitz, and I in the booth:

One of the railways had a showgirl! Marc had his photo taken with her:

Here are some new products from the convention. If it doesn't show up, wait a few minutes and try again:

Believe or not, Bob, Mad magazine is still around and there's also Mad TV on every Saturday night for 12 years now. Alfred E. Neuman lives! Though I'll probably never get an article published in GR now.

Finally! Those of us on the right coast get to see what Rene looks like. Thanks for the pictures. That showgirl does look familiar. I think she was posing with Joe Fosky too.

I'm back from Las Vegas with some pictures.  Yes I did get to meet Rene and Pam.  I drove up for one day from Gold Canyon (about 5 1/2 hours one way which was still faster than by air) and had a great time.  I attended two workshops and spent all my money on the vendor floor on a new loco, sound, and battery RC.  Pictures include Rene & Pam, some beautiful redwood buildings, and a live steam "Big Boy" pulling a ton of cars.

Marty,
Yes, she was for real! She was an actual showgirl. She is married, has two kids, and her name was Janelle (her real name). Very nice lady.
