Hi guys
Thanks TJ
Those in the UK will have worked out it is based on a Medieval peasants cottage others will probably think along the lines of its a bit big for Warhammer fantasy war games.
The truth is somewhere in the middle as it was influenced by both.
It is nominally 16mm scale the popular UK garden train size, but because of its small?? size would work well with most garden sizes with only the need to match the door size which is smaller than a modern door.
With TJ's permission I will forward (Via TJ) further progress pictures as things move towards completion it could take a while even though its a fairly simple structure.
Getting the few modeling bits that are available takes time as will cutting the individual slates for the roof, and no house elf to apparait all over the place to get them
Any suggestions what to use for a couple of toad stools to stick on the left hand front corner under what will be the edge of the roof.
regards John
PS The base plate is a broken PVC battery tray that was liberated from the rubbish skip where I work
Hi William
Thanks & Thanks
Hope to get some more done to it on the weekend the bats for the decorative?? ridge tiles arrived the other day dont think I will need them for a while yet
Not a problem, old stamps inside.
As for toad stuff might check under 1/2 scale houses or doll houses. They some times have some weird stuff, I found a very nice green house I want to buy later.
Bats!? ok, under the eves?
No the bats are to be part of the two end ridge tiles
Sort of like those ridge tiles you some times see with the dragons or curly decorative bits on them particularly on the Californian style bungalows you see over here in Aus
had not thought of dolls house supplier for toad stools the bakery that used to sell that sort of thing for puting on cakes doesn't any more
SWMBO will be pleased with the stamps.
Haven't gone batty yet but I might before this project is over
