DCC on a outdoor Layout

Looking for someone with experience with DCC
in an outdoor layout. Am considering NCE Pro Cab.
Have modest outdoor layout with 300' of track. No
voltage drops with current Bridgewerks power supply.
I will have the work done by a professional DCC
organization.
Besides the expense, what pitfalls should I be
aware of.
Have mostly LGB and Aristo power.
Signals and lights are on a separate circuit
and power supply.
Appreciate any comment or suggestions,
please include phone # for personal
conversation.
Thanks

Although it isn't on the market yet, and is supposed to be available sometime in January 2004, the makers of the Easy DCC system for HO and N scale is working on a wireless DCC system called the AirWire 900, for G-scale. You can read about it at their Web site, www.cvpusa.com.

Hi Cacole,
Thanks for the info, I will do the research. My DCC installer handles, Lenz, Digitrax,
NCE, and serveral other brands. He recommends NCE because of ease of operation
I had a chance to operate this system at a show, display was large, and fewer
buttons than digitrax, being an old fart, my eyes are not as good. Operation is key!!
For the expense, approx $2000 this has to work, otherwise my wife will hit me with
a broom. The breakout is 1000 for 2 wireless controllers and command center plus
power booster (1 or 2) One for me and one for the Mrs. The other thousand would
be for conversion of 8 steam engines with decoders (10 amp) plus misc work. 5
units adding LGB smoke generators, 2 Soundtraxx etc. This is the scope of the
project. Please e-mail you phone # and a convienent time to call over the weekend.
Thanks
Frank

Hello, sunshineman77,
My phone number is 520-458-8397. As I mentioned in my original message, I don't have the AirWire 900 DCC system yet, but intend to install it in a Bachmann narrow gauge Consolidation along with the decoder, batteries and Phoenix sound system when I do get it.

Hi neighbor,
I am just above you in Sarasota.
I can't help you with DCC, the only thing close that I have is an MTH Hudson with the DCS system.
All my other loco's have the Aristo on-board receivers. My remote controls 20 loco's and 30 turnouts on 1200 ft of track.
All of them have Sierra sound and most recent set up 1 with Phoenix sound.
All have either LGB or Aristo SD45 type smoke in them. I try mostly to use the SD45 type smoke which smokes more and has a blower.
Sounds like you are really ready to get into it.
Have fun[8D]
Bud

Newly posted information about the AirWire 900 is now available on the CVP products Web site in the form of a FAQ file. Still no word, however, on when it will actually hit the streets running... Go to www.cvpusa.com for more information.
