Posted by dwbeckett on Monday, March 26, 2007 9:03 AM

I have a lot of rolling stock that the needs to be greased or lubed. What is a easy way to clean then lube wheel sets, none have braring's. BTW most have never been out of the box except for dispaly and some are over 16 years old.

I use LGB grease when I swap out the plastic and go to metal wheels.

I have heard that grease can attract dirt, but this has worked for me and I run outdoors year round.

When at a LGB clinic, they suggested a 1/2 drop of their oil on engine axles, but lots of grease on the gears.
