Bachman Trolley Upgrade to LGB Power
Posted by Buckeye Riveter on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 10:28 AM

I would like to know how to take a Bachman Trolley and replace the motor, drivetrain, wheels, etc. with an appropriate four wheeled power truck made by LGB. I have heard of this being done but can not find any information about the upgrade using the forums search features.

Thanking you in advance,

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

I dont think any of us have tried this, thats why theres no replies, or just give it a little more time. I converted a Bmann trolley to a second hand coach for my layout by replaceing the motorblock with a pair of small trucks, so I'm of no use here.

I know that NWSL sells a replacement drive that fits the same pocket for the Bmann drive. Check there website, it posts instructions so you can see if its something you might consider.

LGB might not be the same wheelbase, but the wheel diameter should be close. It should be a simple conversion. Dont forget that USA sells drive blocks that could also be used.

   Have fun with your trains

Thanks.  Those are good ideas, in fact very good ideas.  NWS has exactly what I am looking for.  They have a kit.Big Smile [:D]

The orginal question was based upon information I received during a Garden RR Show last year.  I wonder if the owner of the trolley just was confused.Confused [%-)]

Thanks again.
