G scale smoke generater
Posted by jlrc47 on Thursday, November 2, 2006 9:49 AM
Hello all , I want to replace my smoke unit in my LGB loco with a fan driven /more realistic smoke unit. I am open to customizing my loco to make it work. I only use my LGB at Christmas time , under the tree as of now. Hoping to add them to the out doors but thats another topic .
all and any help will be great.
Thanks JLRC

I would suggest you check out the Aristocraft fan driven smoke unit, #29311, available at St Aubins @$27.89, check available space in your LGB locomotive as this unit is bigger than others, but very good, I have used it in my Bachmann 2-8-0, great smoke!

I personally am unhappy with all smoke units i have seen on electric locos, This is why i am starting to get impressed by live steam they really make plenty of smoke sometimes.

Danny do you know where i can get more info on that Bachmann unit?

Ian, no not Bachmann, but Aristocraft Smoke Unit # 29311. I have used one to replace the unit in my Bachmann Connie 2-8-0, Ian Fordyce has one fitted to his Hartland Rail Motor.  Really great units, but a bit bigger than LGB, Bachmann etc,
If you can fit then in your locomotives, they work a treat. They are availabkle in Oz,  from Gauge One Gallery in Sydney.  But I purchased mine from St Aubins in the USA.
