Hey, I got posted on Bachmann photo gallery!

My kitbashed 2-4-0 plantation locomotion got posted on the Bachmann photo gallery! Its feel like its my first "published" project.

I dont have a lot of contact with other modelers out here. Few garden RR's and no indoor 1/2"er's. So the web is one of my best sources of contact with other modelers.

I know for a lot of you out there posting photos on a webpage is no big deal but its my first so let me enjoy my 15 nanoseconds of fame.[:D]

Thanks, Its the first large scale locomotive kitbash for me, Once I got over that "fear" of cutting up the loco it moved along alot easier than I thought. I have done some "almost" scratchbuilt projects, but those were using leftover parts. Thats a little different and a lot easier than cutting up a new model.

Now I cant stop, I'm already rebuilding another loco. An Aristo-craft 0-4-0 I picked up on e-bay for $40.00. I'm adding a leading wheel and a pilot deck over the front turning it into another 2-4-0. So far its looking pretty good, I'm also hooking it up to an LGB powered tender I picked up a while ago. Have to build up the cab interior next, more body details, then paint. Sheesh, I'm having fun with this...

Seriously, though, have you considered sending pics to Marc Horovitz with a brief explanation of what you did/are doing?

Hi Rene,

I hadnt thought about it but sure, I'd like to. It was a fairly simple operation. All I used was a razor saw, an X-acto, drill bits and a dremel for two cuts. The question would be breifly explaining the process but thats not too hard. I wish I had taken progress photos now, but I had to borrow the digital camera to take the photos I have.

I could send the photos easily, I just need to know where to send them.

Send maybe two or three at most; just so he can see what you did. Progress photos (for an article) are important, but if you can supply drawings/sketches, we can make them into diagrams too.

Wish I could tell you he'd buy it, but I have no input on article purchases. [V] Still, we're always looking for projects, especially ones with few or basic tools, so give it a try. OR, you can always submit a nice shot for our End of the line page at the end of the magazine. We pay $75 just for that. [:)] Good luck!

Congrats!!!!!!!!! The engine is beautiful. If you could get that in Garden Railways magazine it would be great! I would love to learn how you bashed the engine (parts, e.t.c).

This loco is gone gone gone! I never used it as it was a pitiful lousy performer, I used the boiler/cab to build one of my Heisler bashes, its now powered by a pair of A/C bricks.
