sound in lgb

My dad has a lgb mogaul 2019s. He is putting a 583s decoder in it. Can he clip the 3 wires from the magnet on the front truck of the tender and wire them to the function wires to play the bell and whistel.

I don't know for sure, you might need some optoisolators.... someone must have done this.

I thought the decoder could be controlled normally via DCC.
