News (not trains, exactly)
Posted by Rene Schweitzer on Thursday, June 1, 2006 10:35 AM
I figure it's time to share my news with everyone. . .

on September 9, I'm getting married! It's a second marriage for both of us, so we are planning a simple, small ceremony with immediate family only. After the ceremony we will have a reception at the house.

The groom-to-be's name is Jim and he has always loved trains. In fact, we met here at Kalmbach (he works elsewhere now). He has N scale and O gauge layouts and owns trains in nearly every other scale, too. He's asked recently when we'll build a garden railway. . .[:)]

Congratulations! Now the important question... how does your cat feel about him? Cats are great judges of character and they don't pretend to like someone just to be nice. [:)]

Wishing you all the best!

Congratulations Rene! Sounds like you picked a winner because if he likes trains he must be a great guy.

Tucker adores Jim, so no problems there! [:D] Jim is an animal lover and also has a cat.

We were actually talking about taking Amtrak! The honeymoon might be delayed a few months, as I have two work trips this summer and a long-planned vacation in October with my parents. But we'll figure something out.

Most likely G--Jim has some large-scale stuff in addition to the O stuff.

Congratulations on your up comming wedding. May the two of you be as happy and madly in love as I and my wife are. We are the perfect example of 'Opposites Attract'...

I like my locomotives and my collection of 1950's motor car + bike stuff. Sheila has a 7 sewing machines and 2 cubic metres of fabric in her 'quilt stash' and her 3 green houses are packed with plants...

We have been together over 8 years now and there has only ever been one problem between us -I paint everything in shades of [^]green[^] -she paints everything in [:X]PINK[:X]

I have been married twice as well; and the second time is a lot better than the first, if you got divorced the for the first time for the right reasons; and are getting married again for the right reasons. In other words try not to make the same mistake once.

No one can accuse me of being unfaithful, the first time from November 1959 to 1983 and now ii'm getting close to beating that record and i will too for sure.
