At one point in time--mid-80s--we had a garden railway/Large Scale club on Oahu. I know, because I organized the club. Not sure what happened with the group after I moved to the mainland, but I imagine some of them are still around. <br /> <br />If you're going to be on Oahu, you really won't be anywhere near Hilo (on the Big Island), although it's just a plane ride away. However, some of the folks in the Hilo club would most likely know the Large Scalers on Oahu and the other islands. It is a pretty small state, and anyone who has lived there for a long while pretty much knows everyone else who shares a common interest.
