Rochelle web cam

How many of you would dream about living to the busiest 4-way crossing in the country, nearly 100 trains a day thundering through your back yard!!?? I would simply love it, for a train lover and chaser, and imagine the pics, right from your back yard, yes, I,ve noticed a house after zooming in to the web cam right next to the x-ing, to the left. Gotta make this dude an offer on his house, unless it belongs to Rene[8D] To have a house that close for the traffic that goes through, this guy MUST love trains !!![:D]

There was an article in Model Railroader back a few months that was N scale and modeled the Rochelle site. I don't remember the month, but it was a nice layout. I hope to visit the location sometime.

I don't know if I would want to live there. I should say my wife might not want to, I have about 80% loss of hearing so it would be okay by me.

We go there around 4 times a year and it is GREAT ! Are you talking about a little white house right next to the covered picknic area ? The house cant be more than 30' x 30' . My wife and I have talked alot about making that owner a offer . Down the tracks near the entrance to "Railroad Park" someone bought that property and is putting cabooses there for a kind of bed and breakfast . Its a really great spot to watch the U.P. and the B.N.S.F. . There is the U.P. global intermodal yard right there and you see lots of that going past . If you are ever near there you owe it to yourself to check it out . They even pipe in the dispatcher through speakers under the roof of the covered picknic area .
