Looking for ideas for a layout 4'X8'

I am looking for ideas to create a nice layout for 4' x 8' platform. I deas and diagrams and pics would be appreciated.

Hmm, in G scale that will get you an oval and maybe one spur. I suggest cutting the 4X8 into a 2X16 and making a small switching layout. That would be more interesting than just watching the train make circles.

Welcome to the forum! 4x8 while not impossible is really not the best for Large Scale. Is there any possibility you can utilize a larger area? I don't want to deter you from building a layout but you will be rather limited. What is your reasoning for choosing this size? I note that profile is indeed slim on info. I also note name of elderly football player; a handle perhaps?

4 X 8 isn't much for G scale! You would really need a minimal 5' width to get track down on, and that would only handle the little stuff. Questions above about available space are indeed quite pertinent. If layout indoors and that's all the room you have, I'd suggest a smaller scale train!
