Trucks wanted for scratchbuilding
Posted by pnevell on Thursday, December 15, 2005 1:24 PM
I would like to try my hand at scratchbuilding cars like from the centerfold plans, but am having trouble finding inexpensive trucks for the cars. I model in 1:20.3 and have all Bachmann freight cars, with an old-time narrow gauge mountain RR theme. Does anyone have suggestions or "Hopefully" part numbers for Bachmann trucks. This could also be a good subject for an article.
Thanks for the help,
Paul Nevell

Paul,
I'm going to email you some info, but if anyone else has ideas, please post them too.

Rene,

If you have info on B'mann or other low cost trucks please include me in your e-mail.

Thanks

Thanks to a suggestion from Gary at Ridge Road Station I think I have found the solution.
Bachmann is coming out with a kit for 2 flat cars w/trucks and steel wheels #98916. Street price approx. $25.00.
Also box car kit (1) #98911 and Bobber caboose (2) #98917 same price.
I have some on order and will let you know how they work out when I get them.

Hmm. I prefer Aristo, but my one Bachmann car does run very nicely. That's a deal for 4 trucks and metal wheels!

I use the Aristo-Delton trucks. Add 26" Sierra Valley wheels.
