Hi guys, bit more detail work now done, bolier steps etc. As mentioned previously I made a right old mess of the tender trying to fit proper brass rivets, still got to make that good. What do you think of the green paint? ok or do you reckon black?



How did this one get in here? Latest addition to the fleet.

Well you where silly enough to ask[:D]
Based on nothing but my personal preferences the green looks well YUK!!
that shade of green looks awful.
I think you need to change the shade of green to something more railway like
have a look at the greens used by BR GWR LNER SR and the pre grouping railways.
If its to be black it has to be Blackberry Black as used by the LNWR.
That's my totally biased not really worth anything opinion[:p]
Black or the right Green and it will look awesome[8D]
Erm shouldn't you be getting the rolling stock for it to pull instead of more loco's[:D]

You're quite right John, I should be, then I went on e-bay and saw a Sumpter Valley mallet by LGB and, well, kind of bought it. Just got to work out this pay pal thing and hopefully I'll be off to London next weekend to pick it up. Over a yard long and 12 pounds in weight, one of the last German built ones before they shipped production to China and it's lived in a glass display case since being test run. Boy, did I get a bollocking off Gail.

as John Busby says it should be black i think.the brass fitments will stand out more.as for the tender why tidy it up.few trains ran in a pristine condition.

Hi railroadingman, nice to meet up with you, black does have a certain something when it comes to big steamers! Yep John, that's the big one with a tender and full digital sound. I aint picked it up yet so nothings done until I get may hands on it!! As soon as I get I'll pic it on here.

Since Ian mentioned credit card and wife in the same sentence I've decided against going to London, it's being posted, hopefully this weekend. The money has been paid so everything going well I now own a huge mallet and tender loco, one I've always wanted but thought I would never get. The beatings off Gail and having to live in the shed for a month are all worthwhile!![;)]

Kim, that is awesome looking. I think the green looks awesome on it. The only thing that really stood out to me as odd, was the smokestack. It is very small for a locomotive of that size. But it's your model, not mine.[:D] I myself would have put double stacks on it. I can't wait to see the tender when it is done.[tup][tup]

Yes Scott, that's actually a good idea. What on earth is that loco you have pictured? Did that actually get off the designers board into something like reality? I seem to recall that a while a go you where asking about pivoting a centre drive unit. Explanation young man!![:)]
