Overhead railway

I'm interested in putting in an overhead - hanging track or hanging on the wall a circle of track around a room. I'm interested in knowing how to do this. Spending $350 is not an option. I have 4 shelfs around the room just need a way to put up corners and how to make and hang corners

I saw an overhead G-gauge train at Golden Corral here in Ft. Wayne. They used a wire basket to support plywood to support the track. It looked like it worked quite well.

I used lowcost bookshelf supports from OSH screwed into the stud framing, so the corners were supported by the brackets, 1x12 wood shelve's and custom cut the angled corner sections out of the same shelve material. I tied the shelf peices together with flat metal anchors screwed into the tops of the shelves. I also added a sub-bed of 1/8" sheet foam rubber under the track to help isolate sound, you can use cheap low pile carpet, cork, to help cut down the sound. If you do an overhead, USE PLASTIC WHEELS, the metal ones create quite a loud din even with underlayment. The plastic wheelsets are far better for an inside overhead installation.

Had to take mine down when we redid the room, havent been able to reinstall it.

Cable tray is the way to go, too many people have used it with some workmanlike results.
