NEW MAG

The new magazine has just come through the letterbox. I will read it it in more detail later when I get back home. But one article I did study. [tup]Congratulations to Kevin`s dad on the Woodland Railway. Wonderful. It is nice to know that behind every railroad builder, there is a son pushing him to the hilt. [;)]

Ian,
I think the comment was referring to the fact that our international customers seem to be getting their issues _before_ US customers. About a year ago, we changed international distributors, and they are (obviously) quite efficient in their delivery.

That means that the USPS has loaded mine on the Overnight Delivery Express Mule Train and have struck out across the range at the blistering pace of 2 mph to most likely deliver mine by next week. That is if it doesnt get burried in an avalanche of coupons and unwanted info-flyers.[;)]

vsmith,
They may use a MULE TRAIN in L.A. where you live but here on the Elbow of Old Cape Cod they have found a SLOWER way to deliver the magazine and its called SNAIL MAIL.

Thanks Rene
That`s me jumping in with both feet again. [:I] I was only trying to compliment the contents of the magazine, not start the delivery problem thread again. Actually we have just changed to DHL over here. Thought they were international.

As smcgill stated previously "HERE WE GO AGAIN"! Well how about that, those lucky people in Englind got there magazine on October 22, and here it is October 27, and no magazine in sight at my mail box here in the COUNTRY where it is PUBLISHED and PRINTED and SHIPPED. I guess the money in England is worth much more and is better then ours. If we have to wait much longer even the Old Cape Cod SNAIL MAIL will go out of buisness due to the lack of product to deliver. Maybe the Publisher should use the same DHL to have ours delivered. Sorry Rene but I just had to!

Hmm lets see it's the December Issue and it's the end of October. I'm not worried about it to much. It'll get here long before a store in the area gets a copy.

Rastin,
I agree with what you have just stated. What I am talking about is that ANOTHER COUNTRY 3,000 plus miles away and ACROSS THE ATLANTIC OCEAN is getting better service then the folks in the SAME COUNTRY where it is PUBLISHED, PRINTED and SHIPPED from.
Happy Railroading,
Ron

Oh Well, here it is October 28 and the mailperson just left our mail and still NO magazine. But I did read the above post from our FRIEND up north in CANADA and he has received his magazine and in a PLASTIC BAG to boot. I am sure there LABLES are not half or mostly peeled off when they get there magazine. I wonder if our friends in AUSTRALIA have received there magazine's as yet, they usually get there's before we do, just wondering??

Hello all,
My new magazine has arrived here in the elbow of Old Cape Cod. It just arrived in today's mail and when I heard all the noise I looked out to see that the SNAILMAIL Person was being helped by an OLD FIDDLER CRAB. Haven't looked at it as yet but I am sure it is as good or better then past issues.
Happy Railroading,
Ron

No luck here, USPS likely has it buried under a small mountain of grocery store coupons, mortgage refi mailers, remodeling ticklers, and just plain junkmail that threatens to cause my mailbox to be ripped off the wall by the shear weight of the [censored] mail i get everyday! [}:)]

It got to Slower Lower Delaware (or, if you prefer, Lower Slower Delaware [figure out those initials]) today. Now I have an excuse for not trimming shrubbery and painting inside barn/garage![8D][;)][(-D][(-D][swg]

Gripe, gripe, gripe. Whine, whine, whine. The same people who are whining about the delivery date will likely be the same ones who whine about something in (or not in) the magazine once they receive it. So what's the big deal if your buddy across the pond got it first (he's also likely paying more for it, as well)? Will the sun not rise tomorrow if your magazine doesn't come today? Will you be shortchanged on content because your copy came later? Will you miss out on some spectacular sale or offer? Does that empty mailbox provoke you into kicking the dog and beating the wife and kids? Are you not able to focus at work because that missing issue of GR preoccupies your mind? Have you lost your appetite because your magazine hasn't arrived?

Get real, people! Why is it that some simply cannot understand that once a magazine gets handed-over to the distribution system, things are out of the publisher's hands? They are, at that point and thereafter, in the hands of the U,S Postal (or some other) Service at that point, so if you want to complain to someone, talk with your local postmaster.

And if Kalmbach were to offer to send your magazine via Priorirty Mail, how many of the gripers would be willing to foot the bill for the extra postage and handling? Darn few, I'll bet!

The content of a magazine will be just as fre***o you when you receive it as it was to the guy who got it earlier. So what's all the fuss about?
