Lighting control with Battery/RC
Posted by StephanieY on Saturday, September 17, 2005 8:09 AM
Hi all you battery users out there.
How do you control your lighting such as crossing signal, right or way signals etc?

How do you power it as well?

Hi Stephanie.
You would still control the lighting and grade crossing etc as you do with track power right now.
Run low voltage outdoor lighting cable to each location.
Track mounted sensors will still work the same way with magnets on the loco without any track power.
Kalmbach has a number of excellent books detailing how to do it in smaller scales.
The same principles work outdoors, only beefed up for outdoor conditions.

Best wishes,

Tony Walsham

Modern technology.  Old fashioned reliability.

Thanks Tony.

I suspected this would work but it is always nice to get feedback from the users.
