Hi Michael, [#welcome] An LMS Duchess, lovely. I'm going on Asters site afterwards to have a look. One way to consider if you run one loco at a time is to use the Aristocraft Train Engineer. This is a unit that goes between the transformer and the track and a hand held unit controls the voltage to the track, the hand held is about the size of the old mobile phones and you set it and forget it. I've had mine for about a year and it's great, Sandy at Scottish Garden Railways, www.gardentrains.co.uk is a good supplier, that's me assuming you're a brit!
