A funny tale. I wanted to order something that would light up at night for my son's enjoyment as the train rounded the tracks. I called and purchased a couple of Bachmann old time passenger cars that looked like they would do the trick. The sales fellow asked what I was pulling them behind and I told him a Shay. He said, "You know that Shay's never pulled passenger cars , don't you?" I explained to him, yes, but then again he probably has never rode a train in Mississippi, either!!![:D][:D][:D][;)] (click to enlarge photo)

Jon,
Shays did pull passenger cars at times, and still do on tourist trains. That''s the thing about narrow gauge branch lines. Everything ended up pulling everything at one time or the other. I was just reading the other day about a tourist line pulling pasenger cars with a double header of Shays..
You can find a prototype for just about anything.[:D]
