Im not into garden railroading (Currently), but this topic caught my eye!

I would use the $ to purchace wood and used track to create a larger more solid Lionel layout for my grandfather. I got back into the hobby 3 years ago. My grandfather is the one who got me into the hobby in the first place. After reciving a lionel set from my dad for Xmas I visited my grandfather to show it off. He has an basic 4x8 oval in his basement that is ok, but its been the same for the last 20 years. Now that I think about it I think we both worked on it when I was 5. Ive been kinda hinting that I would love to help buildup and upgrade his table, but neither of us has the money. Then again anyone in this hobby know that little by little a small table can grow into a little empire....or even a huge garden!
