Train Engineer
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, August 8, 2005 6:20 AM
Hi guys,
Received some detail parts from a Brit shop, Garden Railways Specialist, and they included their news letter for offers etc. One of the offers was 'ring for details on Aristo train engineer, now a discontinued line'. Anybody in the states know about this? or heard something?
Cheers,
Kim

I doubt it, they must be refering to earlier versions that have since been upgraded.

AC's website is advertising as "coming soon" starter sets WITH a BasicTrain Engineer controller included as part of the set. I doubt they would discontinue one of their most successful products.

   Have fun with your trains

I agree Vic, I found it most strange. Perhaps it's a sales ploy to get rid of stock. Very strange indeed.

Had the same conversation across the counter at GRS some months ago. Didn`t seem right at the time as it is a successful item.
Reading between the lines, it revolves around the whole Aristo setup in the UK. If you want spares. Forget it. Aristo is managed by Bachmann UK over here. Delivery from Aristo is very slow. I needed a replacment power truck for my
FA-1.
I was given no hope and placed on a waiting list. I tried ordering from one of my regular suppliers in California. He told me all are on back order until September/October from Aristo themselves.[:(]
All the best Ian P

Thanks guys, I think we can put this one to bed and agree that there might be an updated version in the pipeline but the TE lives on. Ian, it seems that Aristo may need an overhaul themselves, I'm always a bit suspicious of a company that can't supply the spares after you've spent your hard earned on their products, they're always chasing the big bucks. Has anyone any comments on this supply problem with aristo? especially big users - MARTY!!
Cheers,
Kim
