Sorry all my English English comes from either Monty Python, Benny Hill, or Alec Guiness, none of that Masterpiece Theater stuffy stuff. I did manage to learn some new choice Engli***idbits from a couple of Guy Ritchie films but I just might know f*ckle![:0]

OK how bout these pics..[;)]

Running my trains at the Queen Mary Show and getting positve feedback from fellow model railroaders. It was a big event for me because the guys at MLS finally managed to get me out from under my rock and come out of self imposed Model Railroad hiding and back into actively participating in a public group railroad event, which is something I have beeen loathe to do for many years after geting burned out and discouraged by the bad attitudes I encountered back in my HOn30 days. That's more like it .
If it's any consolation Vic,this weekend is the International Festival of Model Tramways at Kew Gardens in London.
I'll wander up there with my Dad and have a good look around.
This is the first year that I will (mentally ) judge my models with what is being offered for inspection.
If the standard is low enough,I may venture into displaying some.
Unfortunately I really DO know the standard.English modellers don't do the political correctness bit..If it's not absolutely perfect, please sit in the corner and have a nice cup of tea [B)]

Hurricane Emily only exists in Emily's bedroom, according to Elliot and Oscar.
( I'll second that ! )
Captain.I am glad to make the aquaintance of Micaela Rae Carrales.

Troy
I had hoped to get to the museum but I volunteered to work this weekend a few weeks ago. If I finish early enough on Saturday, might make it for the last couple of hours.
Incidently, I lived a few doors from the museum until I got married. It was a working Pumping Station then. Have you seen the tramway layout that is modelled around Kew?

All the best

Be careful what you wish for Troy! Here are some shots of my 71 Triumph Tiger TR6R, built Meridan, England, April 1971. I am the second owner of the bike. It languished in storage for 15 years before I got it. Here are some before and after shots. Odd that Troy would have the Harley in England and I would have the Trumpet in the US.

Here it is on the day I found it. The deal was $800 and clean out the old lady's garage. Good thing, too or I'd never have found all the parts.

Light of day at last!

After a little spit and polish

out with some friends

Now, how about a spot of tea and a quick jaunt to the country?

A lot of work has gone into the Triumph Jack.
Are they trophies in front in one picture?
Anyway. Some more bombs have gone off in London so I'm going to check that my nearest and dearest survived.Just like old times!

God Bless you and yours Troy. Enough is enough! Those radical fundamentalists need to be rounded up and dealt with...political correctness be ***ed! I think it is time to implement the "007 Order," Licence to kill!

I wish I could be more restrained in my distain of these murderers, but the innocent are being killed. No soldiers, British or American, are targeting and killing Civilians in this manner. Any such arguments that try to justify the actions of these KILLERS are bunk...the bombers of 9/11 and of London in these trying times are MURDERERS and must be treated as such...

...and so ends my rant!!

God Bless America and God Bless The United Kindom!

Sad truth is that over 95% of suicide bombings are done for secular reasons- politics. It was the Tamil Tigers, a Marxist group, that invented the suicide bomb vest, not radical fundamentalist Muslims. I sent Troy a slide show off forum that showed that we are indeed winning, and that they are in fact the bad guys. Disgusting and obscene, that's what these latest London bombings are. At least the Japanese had the decency to attack military targets. Enough said on that.

Yes, Troy, those are in fact a few of the many trophies the Old English Gent has won. I don't show the bike for the sake of competition, I just like to park it in the show area so I can be sure nobody tampers with it. At the end of the day, I grab the trophy and head home. I have 7 first place and one second (I was beat out by a '69 Bonnie so that's OK), plus a best in "metric" class. I figure each trophy makes the price of the bike go up[:D] Not bad for a daily rider.

Capt- I didn't know you were musicaly inclined![^]

If they shut down the underground system on Sunday when I'm trying to get to my model tram exhibition it will be a mini one-man retribution war!
I had to laugh today when my apprentice said "I wonder if it is the same people that carried out the bomb attacks?"
I tried to explain that it was unlikely that a suicide bomber could have more than one successful mission.(unless they are very good at sticking themselves back together [:D]

Captain,
I'm off to Kew Gardens in London tomorrow (not Sunday after all )
I'll take my camera and get lots of pictures of large scale trams and trains.
And pictures of London buses still in one piece.(hopefully the one I'm on [:D] )

As an aside, the London police cornered a bomber today and stuck five bullets in him.
My sort of justice.

I'll have to say with the nice weather that seems to be everywhere, I've been rather busy myself with all kinds of things except trains.

My wife has really wanted a small gazebo and finally decided on where she would like it placed. So that resulted in a fair bit of work between removing the layer of weeds and grass that I was using as ground cover in that area, pouring a few footers for it to sit on, putting down some weed barrier then a little sand, just about 1 cubic yard, and just a couple hundred cement blocks.[|)]

Since then the Alpacas I have decided they really want to get shaved cause it's too hot, and they need to once a year anyway. So that has caused me to make a table for that since I can only stand to be working on my knees for so long at a time.[xx(]

Being summer it's also the time of year to get hay in for the year and I've got one ton so far only 4 more to go and then I'm set [:0]

Other than that I've been trying to catch my breath [:D]

Take care all,
Jack

Hey Jack
Gazebo looks great. But I was intrigued by the Alpacas. Do you have many? I did not know much about them, just had to read up on the web about them. Apparently only introduced into the US 20years ago.

All the best
Ian

My summer has been Fire Department and trains. The first set of train pics is from when I went to the B&O RR museum. The fire pics are from a training we had and the last picture is from the new HO layout I am building.

Ian and Troy,

We have 4 of the fuzzy Llama type animals. Definately something different to see.
So here are some pictures;

An unshaved alpaca

A shaved alpaca

and shaved mom and baby

Troy, you would have to look into southamerican websites on them to possible hear about what they taste like. [;)]

Later,
Jack
