Kitchen Remodel (whimsical)
Posted by markperr on Thursday, June 2, 2005 12:25 PM
Well, the wife and I finally came to an agreement, after roughly seven years, on how the kitchen should be remodeled. It was, of course, spurred on by the fact that I was going to be hosting May's Lakeshore Garden Railway Club meeting. We had talked about a way to combine her existing decorating scheme with some overhead trains. Here are the results:

SHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

The eggliner is currently pulling six flats with Anne Geddes "beanie babies" that my wife got from Target. The border on the right-of-way is an Anne Geddes coffee table book that has been de-bound by her and laminated at Office Max. The flats will eventually be repainted to better fit in with the whimsical theme.

Yep Kim, sure did, and a stove to boot. Note the hillbilly latching system across the front of the stove in the before picture. That's a bungee cord! I killed the latch a few years back and have been too cheap to replace it. As an apology to my wife for my years of stingyness, I bought her a new double oven with five burners. She was very impressed and I am no longer on her ***list.

BTW, she thinks the railroad is cool too and she shows it off to anyone who comes over. I like that.
