2 GRRd,s 2 different yards, interconnecting each other crossing the street!!!!

[8D] Now there,s a project I,ve lined up for myself, after my move in a couple of weeks, something REALLY outta the ordinary, running my trains out of my yard, to cross the very quiet country street over to my neighbors yard with his gigantic pond, and all kinds of flora, shrubs, and plants, then grab a good BUD together for our ingenouity of this project, and then take my trains back over the street back home. Wonder if Aristo,s track will survive a couple of cars going over the track, LOL, my neighbour said to me that he will build a crossing grade signal from scratch, just to make it authentic looking!!!! Ohg Boy Is This GRRREEAAATTTT!!!!!![:D][:D][:D]

Boy, I'm beginning to think you may have inhaled something dangerous while on the job as a firefighter! Suppose you can get some kind of disability pension for that?

That woud be cool. Maybe you could get permission from the County to build the "grade crossing." It might even be a good news story for your local paper. Build it yourself...apply cement (concrete) ...I don't know how to describe what I am trying to say...to provide a "run up" to the track. The car's weight from the tires would be abosrbed by the concrete and pass over the track with no damage. Like a real grade crossing.

Either that or make the crossing temporary for removal when not in use.

Make sure you go out in the street and stop traffic ;-)

I can hear some of the general population now: "Great! First big trains now some guy's /hobby/ is stopping my oh-so-unimportant trip to the grocery store for a loaf of bread."

Ah, it's a matter of whose ox is getting gored here! Would that trip be so unimportant if you were headed to the package store to get a 6 pack? Your important is my unimportant which is what makes the world go round!

Actually, I like the idea; and think it opens the eyes to a need. We need a way to safely run our tracks across driveways & sidewalks, and he who provides the means to do that will reap a small fortune!

Again, that's what I like about reading these forums. Somebody comes up with a wild, irresponsible idea and pretty soon you are getting plausable feedback on ways to make it happen! LOVE IT!

Ferry boats crossing the "black river" would definately be an interesting operation. You'd just dock, traverse the "black river" and dock at the other side.

You could have a form of draw bridge where you and your neighbor pick up a piece of track that spans the road and set it in place to run trains across. A couple quick connections with aligator clips and the power problem's solved.

Marlboro, Call your local municapality and tell them you have speeders going down your road and that they need to install speed bumps. Then install the track in between the bumps for the ramp effect Capt Joe was speaking of.

Don't forget the Big Boy Crossing sign![;)]

Perhaps he needs speed humps, they're a little wider. That way he can double track!

Way out ideas! How about a tunnel with grating on top? Then nobody gets upset. [:)]
