[tup] I think you mean how do the mechanics work. I have one of the new ones and I love it. The old ones apparently had gearbox, etc. failings.
Instead of the pistons / gearbox / driveshafts driving the trucks as on the prototype, on the model, it`s the reverse. Beware, very heavy model.

All the best

Heavy loco?
Not really.
2-8-0, Shays, even the Anniversary is heavier, I think.
The main issue with early ones was the failure to have a slip-joint n the driveline, and the 2 power blocks could and would bind up the drive.
There is a wiring modification I do to the pivot plates on all Climaxes, prevents issues with power loss at that point.
SMALL loco, limited room for sound, control systems and batteries, but I do in fact fit it all in.

Current issue GR, TrainWorld, $299.99.
Radius?
How tight ya got?
With the slip-shaft (all recent releases) runs fine.
Weight?
Can't recall.
Horovitz doesn't ask for weight on reviews.
