LGB roadbed
Posted by siberianmo on Monday, February 21, 2005 11:33 AM
Hello G-gaugers,

While in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, I noticed a huge indoor LGB display that had great looking roadbed. Unfortunately the shop owner was unaware of who made it. He said that LGB had provided the display - years ago - and the roadbed, of course, was part of it.

Ever since, I have been wondering whether there is in fact a manufactured LGB roadbed available for retail sale.

Does anyone know?

Oh yes, I have done the perfunctory searches and came up with zilch.

By the way, I am only into G-gauge during the holidays when my two LGB's circle the tree in a rather nice (if I say so myself) double run for my passenger and freight sets. The roadbed would really be a nice addition, plus eliminate any worry of carpet damage.

Advance "thanx" from an H0-gauge railroader.

Hi,

Yes, LGB still sells their roadbed. If you go to their web site: www.lgboa.com and click on "LGB & toy train products" you'll get a search window. Search by category and select "track and track accessories." Scroll down in the results and ta-da, there they will be. The product numbers start at 61000.

For: Rene,

Many thanx! Ask and ye shall be answered - or something like that.

Now - I'm too old to make excuses, but I DID search for this stuff. I just didn't say WHEN!! That LGB site has changed - and changed a lot since the last time I browsed it.

So, now I can count up what I need and figure out how to purchase it and then get going for next Christmas.

Really appreciate the info and super fast response.

Tom mate;

LGB has jusdt released a whole new range of roadbed in their 2005 releases.

But in my opinion you couls not give it to me, why go to such lengths when you can make your own better and cheaper. What is ok in a lounge room in Germany might be poiynless in the outside in Aus or USA.
