I have done a lot of investigating but I haven't found an answer yet. Maybe someone can help me. I want to automate a switch such that after a train has passed through a switch, I want the switch to automatically flip to the other side. I have Aristocraft switch motors that are operated by a toggle switch. I want to, in effect, 'move' the toggle switch to the track such that when a train passes through the switch, it is 'toggled' to the other direction. Something like a magnet under a caboose triggers 'something' on the track to flip the switch. Has anyone done this? Is this doable?
I run DC track power and usually run 20 -24 volts as my trains are controlled by Train Engineer Revolution. I suppose I could power something from the track that would act like an electrical toggle to feed the switch motor.
Are there any ideas out there?

I am not an expert on this, but I believe LGB has a lot of products off the shelf for automation. The hobby shop I used to go to had a completely automated LGB display. One train would pull into a siding and stop. The switch would flip, and then a a train would pass from the other direction. All hands free. I don't know if their products would be compatible with what you have, but it's a start.
