engine is a much modified LGB 2020, front piolet wheels from a aristocraft engine, pulpwood car is scratch built with real logs

Well Tom by real I meant not plastic, they are from some weed that grows down here in the wild, after I dryed, cut and glued them there was quite a few fuzzies so I desided to burn them off with a tourch when I did it exposed the center core of the twig resulting in log ring look. On the engines I usually use elm  twigs, thanks for the look, Bill

I had to look hard to find the Stainz under all that magnificent work.  Here's hoping someone else's "junk" shows up here on Craiglist in the form of a Stainz!

thanks much for the kind words, that little engine coupled with a powered tender will for over the dirtest track with no problem, and after adding the front pilot w/pickups it's even better. If you like Stainzs check out my ORF citrus train ( I will post some better pictures of it) which is a stainz turned in to a 0-4-4 forney with new boiler, and it's only 13 3/4" inches long coupler to coupler, Bill

Would love to see that Stainz-to-Forney conversion.  We rarely have stuff come up for sale locally, and that usually battered and priced between obscene and ridiculous (It's large! It must be collectible!).  LGB's Stainz and Bachmann's "Annie" do come up from time to time, so understanding how to convert trash to treasure can inform my haggling!
