Hi folks,

I'm new to the community. While researching online I've found many interesting topics already covered by largescalecentral.com. Unfortunately until now I was unabele to get access to their website. I always receive the following message: 

Forbidden

 

You don't have permission to access /forums/topic/17049 on this server.

 

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I'm sorry you're having problems. Perhaps someone here can help. Likely, you will need to contact someone from that website.

Looks like you are trying to go directly to a particular topic, rather than the main entry to the forums. Could be an old link to a thread. Go to the forum with the main URL first. Greg

thanks for fast reply. Unfortunately even their landing page (home page) is not accessable. Always the same error message as already posted.

You did not post the actual link tried, but the error you posted seems to imply you are using https to access the site, that will NOT work.

just use largescale.com, no www, no https, etc.

Also, turn off any browser plugins, and try a different browser. I doubt your country or your ISP is blocking largescale.com

 

if this fails, give you o/s and version, and your browser and version.

My direct link is http://www.largescalecentral.com/forums. Copied right off the address bar. However, when I LOOK at the address bar, it looks like this: www.largescalecentral.com/forums

 

Your last part of the forbidden page shows this:

Apache/2.2.25 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.25 OpenSSL/1.0.0-fips DAV/2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 Server at www.largescalecentral.com Port 80

Try it again. I have had issues over the years with websites and places in between there and here that blocked or stopped access.

Last thing, if that doesn't work, find a copy of XP Pro and see if that works.

what happens if you just go to www.largescalecentral/forums  ?

Hi Greg,

I can do what I want, no access. Basically it should be easy to access. If you try Google you will see the relevant and actual links to largescalecentral. Just double click on one of these links and this should open the relevant website. Very easy.

This is quite obviously a fundamental problem. It seems that the domaine/server in the US is blocking IP's from my Internet Service Provider German Telecom. By the way German Telecom is the biggest ISP in Germany. Yesterday I had already contact with their technical support. Independently they traced the connection all the way though to the domaine/server in the US. Once again access was denied !!!

The funny thing is that some of my friends using other ISPs like vodafone, unity media and O2 had no problem to get access. They just doubleclicked on the link and had access.

What should I do next ????? Any idea ?? Additionally you can contact me under [e-mail]

Thanks for your ideas. But I can do what I want, access is not possible. Basically it should be very easy to get access. Try Google and you will find all the relevant and actual links to largescalecentral. Just double-click on one of these links and you should be in. The funny thing is that friends of mine had absolutely no problem to get access using the same method as described above. But most of them are using other German ISPs like Vodafone, Unity media and not Deutsche Telekom (German Telekom) like me. Other friends using Deutsche Telekom also received the same error message. By the way Deutsche Telekom is the biggest provider in the country.

Therefore the problem is quite obviously a fundamental one. Last Friday I ask the technical support team of Deutsche Telekom for help. They traced the data connection all the way to the relevant server in the US, but even these guys couldn't get access. It looks like the relevant server in the US is blocking any access by Deutsche Telekom.

 

Any idea how to come forward ?? How can I contact folks from largescalecentral, email, phone# etc. ??? Just in case, you can contact me under [e-mail]

I have another idea, perhaps your IP address is blacklisted.

Try the various blacklist services with your ip address.

What often happens is an entire block of ip addresses gets blacklisted.

I'm surprised your ISP could not determine WHERE the problem is, even if it is not under their control.

It appears that LSC is running on Apache web servers. I ran one at home for a while until my ISP blocked port 25. It is possible that LSC has a 'blacklist' of it's own in the web server software. There is a file named "ipdeny", and that is exactly what it does. It is local and not readily availble for view by anyone other than the administrator.
