decoder sound and motion
Posted by doonerspringsrailway on Thursday, January 7, 2016 8:48 AM

I realize this isn't a garden railway or large scale question but, I've exhausted my searches and reading other forums has not been helpful.  So I'm turning here in hopes to get an answer to my question.

I'm Seeking the sound and other decoder for my HO scale Durango and Silverton set.

I have looked on the Tsunami website but had no luck.

This is a bachmann set, and is DCC ready but does not have either decoder.

Where can I buy (online) the 2 decoders I'll need?.

I'm very frustrated with the email exchange I've had with bachmann.

Please help.  I'm also getting ready to do a garden railway install in the next few years.  But the decoder info is what I really seek at this poin.

Yes, trainboard's ho or dcc forums would be a much better place to ask this.

With few of us owning the loco you indicate, we would not have a clue as to the connector (if any) in the loco.

You will get a lot of info from trainboard.com

doonersprin I suggest you post this question over in the model railroader DCC forum. As far as pointing you in the right direction, you need a sound decoder only, as a sound decoder also controls the motor and lighting functions too.

I highly suggest you look at TCS Wow sound decoders. They are excellent. You will most likely not find a specific fit for you D &S loco but with some photos and guidance we will help you through it. Post on the MR DCC forum and we will go from there.

I rode the D&S last year, great time.
