Hi bluebonnet 71
I voted no
Me I would wnat a complete self contained ETD that would not be restricted to one wagon but able to be hung on the back of any train that has a bracket to take it.
Without the need to set up the wagon with battery box ect not easy if you want an empty flat top at the back.
I know you can get some pretty small batteries these days but I am not so sure they come small enought to do what I would want.
regards john

I voted no simply cause they are easy to make and I don't use a box , i rubber band the battery with light unit on top of it right to the coupler. Cause at night I have to have it because in the dark you can't see if you lost a car or not. In the dark all you see is a light.
I'll post a photo later.

Is it REAL? or Just 1:29 scale?

Long live Outdoor Model Railroading.

Sorry William,
But I answered "What do I need it for?" Those little boxes put men out of work and in my era of railroading, we run cabeese with brakemen in them. But if your willing to make some cool little lanterns to hang on the ends, I'd be happy to take a look at them [;)][:)][^]

No, sorry, but I run a caboose. Diesels and EOT's are not for me. In my prejudiced opinion, a train is not a train without a caboose.

You know, I just sat and thought about it and I could use 4 EOTs, Not as you think of them, but they would be used as "End Of Tail" markers for the cats [:p][:D] You know what it's like to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom or to the kitchen for a glass of water or milk and ending up tripping over one of them fuzzballs [:O] I've heard it happens much more with dogs, but the EOTs would work well on them too, just make it a bit larger [:o)]

I voted no because i think it is a silly idea, to use batteries to power anything when track power is available. Also i am working on doing justthat in and Alpine Baggage car and no box is necessary, just put the bloody thing in place wire it up and away you gomate.

Talking of putting rear lights on animals, did youknow in the Australian State of Western Australia and some other states as well, you have to have a tail light on camels as they are actually a form of transport in those areas and they do go on roads at night so there.

Regards

Ian

William,

you never know till you try............there are a lot of people out there who don't have the time or the patience to scratch build, so you may sell a few of those marker lights to the other G scalers out there. If they don't cost you a lot to make whats the harm in trying.
You may sell more than you think on Ebay....

POSITIVE AL [:)] [tup] [tup]
" Are ya sure you can't use that for scratch building? "
