Hi Brad,
Can't say I've done that, but there will be someone who has! In the meantime a big hello to another recruit.[#welcome]
Cheers,

The Bachman Smoke units Stink!!!!![:(!][:(!][:(!] The smoke unit for my Bachman Mogul, the smoke wont even come out of the stack, it just builds a white clowd inside the stack!

Just make sure you idenitfy space first.
The smokebox is kind of narrow on the Shay.
You also need to think about upgraded trucks, as the original pickups do not cotton to any higher current draw than they have, and even then they might go POOF!
There is a voltage regulator board screwed to the ront of the weight, usually accessed by lifting up and sliding back the sand dome. Make sure if the smoke you use needs track power you remove this board and hard-wire to the flicker board.
