Hi there,
I only own one USA piece. An old time reefer. Like it very much. A lot of detail items to install which I like. I will definately buy more in the future. Considering getting their GP9 in vintage CN colours. How do you find their locos run??? Later eh...Brian.

Steve, why would you ask that question?? I know you have some. Its kinda like Ford/Chevy/ Dodge. all have good points and some have different features.
Aristo 's are my work horse, USA is my lookers, and all the others find their places on my RR. ( or on the shelf)
I just hope all the companies keep their starter set prices as low as possible to help get folks in the hobby. Then we buy the big locos.

Is it REAL? or Just 1:29 scale?

Long live Outdoor Model Railroading.

train-me

Half of my cars are USA, half Aristo, two of my three engines are USA, one 44 toner and one GP 30. My other engine is a Marklin 0-6-0 80class. I have no Aristo engines yet account they do not make any I need. When the GP 40 comes out I have asked Luis if he will do it in the current U S Army red paint. The Army is using GP 40's now . I do not plan to buy engines to be just buying them. So who ever makes an engine that fits I will buy it.

My USA engines just got the Lionel / USA / Trains America radio control and sound. They run great and sound good. The Lionel hand held unit is easy to operate.

Engines I hope to see built by someone are
Alco RS1
Alco S type coming from USA
GP 40 coming from Aristo
2-8-0 modern type with Walsharts valve gear and piston valves coming from Aristo
2-10-0 German 52 class war engine Hope Marklin does one someday.

Next engine this year is a USA GP 9 in the Army red paint.

I do not buy from just one builder. I buy what I need from who ever makes it. My indoor part is all LGB brass track with German signals and my outdoor part is all Aristo SS track with American signals.

I like the USA trains I own, but I like the other brands also. A lot of good stuff out there.

The reason for the German signals and engines is I use to work on the German railways for 25 months and my railroad will have a mix of e

Mostly buy the USA Ultimate series of rolling stock because of the detailing and METAL WHEELS. Locos are Aristo. Now, if only the couplers would properly align we'd really have something. Have to jerry-rig to make 'em run.

I was planning on getting USA trains because I can get the Trainmaster Command Control (TMCC) preinstalled. Is that a good way to go?

Hello Train-Me , I own 5 USA locomotives and some of their cars. The aluminum passenger cars are beauitful and the A-B-A set of F3`s run real good . I would have to say they are my best running locomotives along with a couple of LGB products I have. They run at real slow speeds all day long ! I also own a Aristocraft Dash-9 and their SD-45 . These engines can pull everything I got and their detail level is tops. However in my experiances they have a little more problems with dirty track than the USA stuff. I also have a MTH "challenger" and this one runs real good too .Hope to post some steam action on my web link soon .http://planetdonnstudios.com/mike/index.html

Hi Train-Me,

I like the USA trains rolling stock as well as LGB and Aristo. Unfortunatly the prices on the north side of the border are high, so I started to build my own.

I did buy an Aristo Craft 040 on Ebay on Sunday and the price was really good. My first Loco...........now I can pull some of those cars I have been working on

Chompers - I want either that or U25-B. As much as I'd like a big 45 or Dash 9, I can't squeeze big curves in small spaces!

Neither can i. I used Lgb 8' and 15' diamiter curves. [:D] But i had to use 5' diamiter curves on this one U turn. Also my Longest Straight section between curves is 5'.

Not A very big Railroad!!! But it sutes me, as i only use LGB moguls and a Bachman Mogul.

I have a USA SD-40 with Train Master Command installed, and their Turbo Smoke Unit
works real good, Plus had all lights replaced with super bright LED's looks cool at night. Sound is great better than listening to the Wind, Smoke comes out nice, going to have Remote couplers installed soon also. pulls 20 cars plus no problem. Do agreed with USA's Ulitmate series you need metal wheels

I own 29 USA locos, almost 1/2 my loco fleet. I also own 112 freight cars from USA, that's almost about a third of the frieght car fleet. And I own 10 of USA's passenger cars, about two thirds of my small passenger car fleet. In cabooses I own 6, this is a bit less than 1/3 of my total caboose fleet. So I guess that USA is the largest own brand of rolling stock of the biggest three brands(Aristo, LGB and USA). I must mention MDC too because I own about 46 ore cars made by them. I don't own any Bman, because they are not a player in the standard gauge field [xx(] BTW, I make alot of my own detail parts [;)][:)][^]

I have a few pieces, nice quality and fair prices. I don't care for their customer service though.

This is the USA engine i want:
PRESTIGE SERIES B6 Steam Locomotive http://www.usatrains.com/usatrainsb6.html

I feel bad though, because i am not sure if i can ever get it. first the $$ is high for me and then, the problem is that all my rolling stock is 1:20 B-mann. Although as of now, i pull that same rolling stock behind a marklin 1:32 so scale really shouldnt be a factor for me.

ah, dreams.
