looking to put a remote in my critter how is the best way to take apart without killing it ?
I use a trail car for my remote, I use the Hobbyking system.

I did have 10 AA batteries & Revolution inside, but had to cut the insides out, remove driver etc to make it all fit. Also had a Mylocosound card, but speaker was a real hassle. Had to remove windows to hear sound.
I finished up removing everything & using trail car.
I just started removing screws from the bottom, To dismantle, take photos at each step, so it can go back together correctly.. I found it very fiddly.

Thanks !! Andrew I'll keep that in mind where I take apart my critter......I've got a basic train engineer and the receiver is small enough to fit inside and again Thank you Andrew .......Don
You might want to check out George Schreyer's tips page at www.girr.org/girr/tips.
He has a page devoted to the center cab which is what the critter is based on.
Hey Grumpy .....thanks for the tip I'll put it to good use .....thank you very much..Chili

well I did it ,took that critter apart and forgot to photo it , but I did make a drawing of show where each screw came from and taped them to it and any part marked it with a sharpie where it would not be visible , I'll take photo's as i put it back together and the mods so it can either run from track power or battery , so with any luck and a little time I'll get it...............................Chili
What kind of radio did you put in there. A friend put a Lynx radio in his critter and made it so it would run off of track power or a battery. In fact, he put in a diode so it could run track power AND a battery.
He had stuffed the cavity full of Nicads and it worked great. I opened mine up to put a Revolution in it but it wasn't DCC ready and needed a complete rewiring. I didn't do it yet.
I'd be interested in your mods.
