Does anyone know what scale the Piko White Barn (62120) is? I've searched online and have found everything from 1:20.5 to 1:22.5 to 1:24 to 1:29 and 1:32.
All the website says is that it is a G Scale barn and, as we all know, that covers a lot of territory. I have the dimensions from the website so don't need those. Would like to know what scale the barn is.
Thanks!
Ed
I do not suffer from insanity...I enjoy every minute of it!!! Over 60 and still playing with toys!
With barns, it doesn't much matter. They came in such a variety of sizes. It will work well in pretty much all the scales. If there's a "people" door on the model as opposed to a barn door, you can get some idea of the "scale" of the barn if wanted to be particular about it. Compare the height of that door to the height of a person in your chosen scale and go from there.
Having said that, Piko's stuff is typically scaled around 1:24, give or take.

I put a Piko 62120 barn on my northern Indiana layout in August, 2009. The Piko literature that came with it showed a few Piko Series 'Spur 1' items labeled as 1:32 scale. However, the barn is in the Series simply called 'Piko G' and all those items are identified as 1:22.5 scale. That being said, when I was laying out my farm, the barn looked significantly smaller than the Aristo 7203 farm house, so I decided to build a base for the barn:
Details on how I built the base are HERE.
Another point of interest, the barn is molded in white plastic:
but after leaving it outside year 'round, the UV rays turn it creamy yellow:
Finally, I didn't like the German or English advertising on the roof, so I painted over it.

David
