What diameter curve does the GP40 require? What road names have been run to date?
Thank you
Hello, Taken from their 2012 Price list, here are only 8 road names noted on this list.
ATSF, UP, NYC, BN, NS, CSX, Alaska, and WM Original. The engine is 24 inches long, is DCC and RCC sound ready. And will run on a minimum diameter curve of 5 feet. The 2012 MSRP was $728.00. In 2009 Aristo listed 16 different road names in their catolog. They could be phasing out this model. Good luck finding your favorite road name. Aristo has told me that they do not have any more nice photo catalogs for this year. 2009 may be the last one produced. USA Trains makes a nice SD40-2, needs 8 foot diameter track, MSRP is 529.95 and a GP38-2 which only needs 5 foot diameter curves. MSRP is $474.95. And the best thing about USA trains is that their is a 99% chance they will have these engines in stock, and I think they are a much bettter locomotive, and easy to repair/replace their motor blocks. But, that is my opinion from selling. running and repairing them, I am at; jhh1218@att.net for other measurments etc if needed.

Thanks for your help. I currently have two Aristo-Craft SD45s and two USA Trains SD70Macs. All of these require an 8" circle was wanting something smaller next time around.
I didn't know Aristo ran the GP40 in Norfolk Southern paint, that would be my top pick.
