Non urgent help please
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, September 9, 2004 2:02 AM
Hi all
I would like to obtain an early LGB Stainze cab and I do mean only the cab.
The key thing is the cab moulding must be in good condition and MUST NOT
have the no 2 on the side any idea where I might find one or has some one got one in their junk box.
regards John

I have a Steinz cab, but the glass is busted out, it may need paint and the roof got commondeered for my gypsy Falk project, have to check for the number issue. Its not a pretty sight if my memory serves me right. More info to follow.

Hi vsmith
As long as the cab moulding it's self is ok the other bits from one of the cabs I have can be used to rebuild it.
the Stainze has come out in a number of variations mostly with a different number on the cab as far as Ii am aware.
I have two of the locomotives both with the same number on them
and it will be easier to change the cab that remove the number plate..
The one i want the cab for is going to have to come appart soon any way
for new wheels and to have 16mm style buffers fitted after a bit of
measuring it was decided it was not worth building a bigger cab just to make it 1mm taller

Hi John,
I'll keep my eyes open in the UK, if I find anything I'll give you a shout.
Cheers,

My cab has been painted over black and the very smal sprues at the base of the entries that connect the base of the front to the rear have been removed. I was toying with the idea of using it for a critter idea but nothing came of it. I beleive my Steinz is a late model.
