Hi Ronnie,
With only one dealer in Africa - incredible - I think you may have stumbled onto a good business idea here. How many people actually garden railroad in South Africa?, I suspect you are one of very few. As a matter of interest, what do you model/run?
Cheers,
Kim

[sigh] I have to travel 40 to 50 miles to my local supplier. I look with envy at the prices in Garden Railway in the USA.

[swg] I recently took my credit card into Trainworld while on holiday in New York. Heaven! I have a friend who travels to and from the US so I order on-line and he brings them back with him. The lengths we go to for this great hobby.

Hi Iandor

Sorry the reply took so long but I only surf the internet weekends due to cost. Port Elizabeth is 34 deg south and 2 hours ahead GMT

Hi Kimbrit

I would estimate that there are less than 50 garden railways in South Africa. Due to a high crime rate and a section of the population that lives off the proceeds of stolen brass and copper, I personally wouldn't think of putting track in the garden it wouldn't last 2 days. So I build indoors, have enclosed the garden with high walls and plastic roof for security to make an area we call the "patio". I am running LGB but have only just started permanent construction. Previously it was temporary set-ups on the patio floor.

Hi Rene

Sorry to hijack your poll for a private conversation but I'm all alone here by the look of it [:(][:(]
