The Front Yard Layout is Popular!
Posted by Rex in Pinetop on Sunday, July 29, 2012 9:31 PM

We've been hosting more and more visitors to our front yard.  Yesterday a group showed up with a "Train Cake" the kids made for me.  There were 53 kids and adults in that group that came walking down the street and surprised the heck out of me.  Here is a picture of the cake and sign.  I wish I had taken a picture of them.

Every year during the annual Church picnic, I have people walking down the street and looking into my backyard to see if the trains are running.  I had an older couple stop and look to see if they could see where the sounds were coming from.  I have a multi-layer layout in my yard.  I am running a Aristo U25B coal train on the lower track and a LGB Southern 2-4-0 old style steam engine with 2 old passenger cars on the top.

It is really nice when the kids and the parents ask about them.

I hope you enjoyed the cake.

People stop by just about any time of the day.  This evening we had 23 who had rented the big house up the street for their family reunion stop by just as we sat down to eat.  We ran trains and had a great time anyway.

Here is a picture of Rapunzel in the tower and the cemetary that's under construction.
