I have an LGB engine ( 1218) Gscale that does not run well. It seams to draw alot of power and not pull much besides itself. The drivers seam to be somewhat stiff. It has a circuit board in the shell. Is this a DCC type engine? What type of transformer should be used to power this engine? Does anyone have any service notes / diagrams to share of this engine? Thank you for your help.

Is "1218" the LGB Part Number that is stamped underneath the locomotive or is that the engine number printed on the side of the locomotive cab?
