Dear Wally, Thanks for your reply, yes, I am planning on putting the building outside. I am a starter though, would first want to start out with the standard lighting before I change anything.. :-) Also, I live in Holland and the number of shops that carry a lot of G-scale products are hard to find. I tested the lights from the pola set on 12 volt. This seems to give a bright light and I still suspect that this is the official rated voltage. What surprised me was that the bulb from the light house isn't a standard off-the-shelf light bulb, but has some electronic built in to let is flash every second or so. You can't tell this by looking at the bulb, it looks very ordinary. With kind regards, David
